Mapping the summer 2009 Lincoln Park muggings

Last summer, several people, mostly men, were the victims of a rash of robberies in the Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park. The victims were confronted on foot from behind by men believed to be in their 20s.

This interactive Google Map shows when and where the muggings occurred.

There were four strong-arm robberies in Lincoln Park that Police believe are linked. These robberies occured on July 30 at 2 a.m. and 2:05 a.m., and on Aug. 1 at 3 a.m. and 3:36 a.m.

All four victims were men in their early to mid-20s who were walking alone. Each was confronted on foot from behind by at least four attackers, who were also men in their 20s. The victims were asked for their wallets and were then beaten in the head and face. Two of the victims were hospitalized.
